Lawful Evil is the alignment of evil which chooses to constrain itself within some power structure or system of authority.
Compared to Neutral Evil and Chaotic Evil, Lawful Evil individuals tend to be consistent, follow some set of rules, and appreciate hierarchy. Sometimes they're even trustworthy.

NE is willing to do anything to get what it wants, whereas LE often isn't. Again, LE constrains itself within some kind of power structure. Remember: Magneto doesn't want to kill mutants.
