Lawful Neutral is the alignment of Law held above all else.

It might be tempting to consider LN to be Law divorced from virtue and moral goodness, but, on the contrary, the best way I can conceptualize LN is that it is where Law is equated with virtue and moral goodness.

It is not that order can be good, but that order is good. There is no good outside of order. Laws and traditions exist because they are good; and by contrast chaos, defiance, and deviation from these systems are by definition morally impermissible.

Lawful Neutral individuals follow the rules blindly. They perpetuate whatever system of authority they are operating within. To them, following the rules and acting virtuously are one and the same.
