Lawful Good

According to the PHB:
Lawful good (LG) creatures can be counted on to do the right thing as expected by society.
However, I don't much like this description, so here's mine: Lawful Good is the alignment of virtue, mercy, and righteousness exercised within some power structure or system of authority.
Comparisons
Versus Neutral Good
NG is far more pragmatic than LG. LG individuals seek to perpetuate their power structure, whereas NG see said power structures simply as tools to be used to achieve some end.
Versus Chaotic Good
This one's easy: CG proactively seeks to subvert and smash the power structures LG holds so dear.
Versus Lawful Neutral
LN links moral virtue with the perpetuation of the power structure they operate under, whereas LG sees the power structure as a necessary vehicle for it.
