A plane or plane of existence is a "world" or universe with its own properties and physical and metaphysical laws. They exist in the multiverse.

Many different types of planes exist. There exist material planes like Marillia, the Forgotten Realms, and Ravnica, where mortals are born, live, and die. Beyond the material planes are a variety of noetic planes such as Celestia and the Nine Hells.

Cosmological models

Scholars have formulated various cosmological models in an effort to model the structure of the multiverse. The dominant model is the Great Wheel.

Known planes

Italicized are material planes.
