Overlords
The overlords, also called the rakshasa rajahs or simply the rajahs, are a group of powerful fiends in the world of Eberron who were birthed at the dawn of the world by the great progenitor dragon Khyber. They ruled the world for approximately 8 million years in an epoch known as the Age of Demons before they were toppled by an alliance of dragons and couatls.
The overlords are the mightiest beings in Eberron,[1] mightier even than the Sovereign Nine and Dark Six. Originally, there were approximately thirty of them. They are now bound by the Silver Flame.
Known overlords
Some of the known overlords are:
- Bel Shalor
- Dral Khatuur, the Heart of Winter
- Eldrantulku, the Oathbreaker
- The Horned Prince
- Katashka, the Gatekeeper, the overlord of undeath
- Prince Levistus, who somehow managed to get frozen in this universe, too
- Rak Tulkhesh, the Rage of War
- Sul Khatesh, the Keeper of Secrets
- Tiamat, the Daughter of Khyber, the truest of all of Khyber's children
- Masvirik, the Cold Sun
- Ran Iishiv,[2] the Unmaker
As you can see, some of the overlords are indeed known to the peoples of various other worlds. Tiamat is known in other worlds as the tyrannical Mother of Dragons, while Levistus is known as a powerful archdevil of Hell. In addition, the OLs are called the Elder Evils by the aboleths—a term also known in other worlds.
