Elder Evils

From Marillia

The so-called Elder Evils are a group of largely unconnected ancient, malevolent, enigmatic entities whom most beings, including scholars, do not or cannot understand. What little we know of them indicates they are forces of extraordinary malevolence capable of feats of incredible destruction.

Again, the Elder Evils are mostly unconnected. "Elder Evil" is a very loose term. There are no real criteria for what qualifies an entity as an Elder Evil, and there's no set list. It's not some evil club of villains with membership cards who have meetings every Saturday in one of their moms' basements. It's merely an umbrella term scholars use to categorize a group of largely uncategorizable malignant entities.

Elder Eternal Evils

The so-called Elder Eternal Evils are three powerful entities known to the peoples of the Forgotten Realms. They are:

True Elder Evils

The so-called True Elder Evils are as follows:[1]

Greater Elder Evils

The so-called Greater Elder Evils are:

  • Ahthundal ("AH-thun-dahl")
  • Arseth, or Arseth of Many Faces
  • Chahazz ("chah-HAHZ")
  • Dulshan ("DULL-shan," first syllable rhymes with "gull")
  • Kallifer ("KAL-ih-fer")
  • Kaizan ("KY-zahn" or "ky-ZAHN")

Infested stars

The sky in the Forgotten Realms is home to several so-called "infested stars": planet-sized interdimensional entities infested with energies from the Far Realm. These beings are as massive as they are malignant.

Predominant among them is Hadar, but the full list is as follows:
