Saint Valentus was[1] a Valdorian-born Alicantian religious leader, military commander, and statesman who was the last Lucian saint and the founder of the Alicantian Empire. With statues of him constructed in Valina and Auvergne and as far as pagan Estelle and Phoena, Valentus is one of the most famous and widely celebrated figures in the history of Teresis.

Little is known of Valentus's early life, save that he was born in the outskirts of Gascont in Auvergne to an Elsian family. When word began spreading of a young girl who predicted the destruction of Hallant, Valentus journeyed to find her. In her he discovered the first Lucian oracle, Yulei. The two would become lifelong companions, fighting in the seventh Himraldan invasion and founding the Alicantian Empire together.

Notes

  1. Officially, church documents use the present tense when referring to Saint Valentus, as they believe he is still alive in heaven. I'll use the past tense for the sake of avoiding confusion.
