Not to be confused with the Valinain Empire.
The Valdorian Empire, often simply called Valdoria, was one of the many successor states to the Valinain Empire. It was based in Auvergne.
In the aftermath of the destruction of the Valinain Empire and numerous Imrayan invasions, Valdoria emerged as one of the most powerful states in the Aenea. While the city of Alicante itself was variously battered by barbarians, occupied, sacked, and disunited from the rest of the Valinain coast, Valdoria grew strong and united under a centralized monarchy.
In the latter centuries, however, Valdoria's lands were gradually eaten away by the Alicantians. At the end of the Seventh Occaria, the Valdorian Empire was officially dissolved: it was succeeded by the Duchy of Liore, and the former Valdorian king was demoted to duke. A strong revanchist movement fueled Liore's entrance into the Eighth Occaria—a gamble that ended in disaster: Liore was conquered and its lands were seized by Alicante. Thus the last remnant of the Valdorian Empire was extinguished.
