Quethe (KWAYTH) is the Phoenic god of wisdom, knowledge, skill, craft, magic, science, art, technology, engineering, medicine, music, and many other things.

Mythology

Quethe is believed to have liberated himself from the cycle of reincarnation imposed by Yacha. He is possibly the only namen god to do so.

Relationships

Quethe is one of the sons of Ebzu and Nyssa, and therefore the brother of Shahra and Sonya, and the uncle of Casir, Vaisha, and Ossur.

Quethe opposed his mother Nyssa in the great war between her and her children. He aided his brother Shahra using magic, rather than force of arms.

Quethe is a chill guy, known for his diplomacy. He serves his "father" Ra faithfully, with Ra even referring to him as his "greatest servant" in Great Ra Hymn 26.

Vaisha and Mishra often seek Quethe's counsel, which he happily gives.

Quethe has had a rocky relationship with his nephew Casir. When Casir slew Ossur and took the throne, Quethe was not eager to accept him as king, but he eventually did. Secretly, however, Quethe helped Vaisha hide using magic and aided her (again magically) in resurrecting Ossur. Then when Mishra challenged Casir, a few myths tell of how Quethe sought to adjudicate the disagreement; these same myths claim Mishra was willing, but Casir refused, which may have been Quethe's hope. In a few purported esoteric Casiric texts, Quethe is named one of the Great Foes of Casir; interestingly, he is named as being an even greater foe than Vaisha.
