Hestati

The Hestati Order ("hes-TAH-tee" or "es-TAH-tee") is a military order of monastic knights who form the primary paramilitary arm of the Sanctuary. According to their own code, they serve the Goddess, her law, and her apostle, the Oracle.

Words

The Hestati have many unofficial words, but their sole official phrase is LVX IN TENEBRIS or lux in tenebris ("Light in darkness.").

Some of their unofficial words are:

• Mortem ne timueris. ("Fear not death.")
• Est solum unum. ("There is only one.")
• Ave Oraculum. ("Hail (the) Oracle.")
• Ave Madonna. ("Hail (the) Mother.")
• Ave Dea. ("Hail (the) Goddess.")

Another common phrase is ave Regina ("Hail (the) Queen (of Heaven).").
