Hestati

The Hestati ("heh-STAH-tee") is a Lucian paramilitary order of monastic knights. They are the primary paramilitary arm of the Sanctuary. They're basically the Alicantian SS; they're like a combination of secret police, special forces, and death squads. They're one of the most organized and ruthless military forces in the history of Marillia. They're the ones who perform the most heinous of Alicante's crimes. It is mainly they who run the concentration camps and round up thousands of foreign children. When Alicante puts whole nonhuman populations to the slaughter, it's often Hestati knights who are swinging the swords. They're not fun guys.

• Amadeo Vidal, a Hestati captain. Astorian-born. Arguably the most infamous Hestati officer.
• Noh Boogies, a Hestati knight and a player character in Daughters of Man.
• Gina Hesse, a well-known Hestati commander.
