The matria is the bishop of Alicante, the presiding officer of the Grand Chamber, and the supreme pontiff of the Sanctuary. It is a position roughly analogous to the pope. The matria is the highest office in the Alicantian Empire, after the oracle. The current Matria is Cassandra.
