Avant is a world of savage beauty and haughty decadence, far beyond our material world. It is a realm of extremes: tranquility and turbulence, love and hate, peace and immense violence. Among the elves, it is called Arvandor, and many of them believe it to be their heaven. It is described in the World Axis (under the name "Arvandor") as an astral dominion. In the Great Wheel, it is considered the Chaotic Good Outer Plane, and is known as the Olympian Glades of Arborea, or simply Arborea. To the ancient Greeks, it was known as Olympus. In the Great Beyond, it is considered the Chaotic Good plane of the Outer Sphere, and is called Elysium.[1]
