Taliyah Ren ("tuh-LEE-uh") was a Riyani politician[1] and military commander who was the preeminent leader of Riyan during the Eighth Occaria.
Death
Near the end of the war, Taliyah was defeated in battle near the city walls of Alicante. She was reportedly captured by the Hestati, who stripped her naked and then stabbed her to death.[2] Her corpse was then strung up on a cross outside the walls of Alicante.
Public perception
Public opinion was a rollercoaster for Taliyah. For the first phase of the war, she was viewed positively, as a charismatic leader who could bring Riyan back to greatness. However, public opinion dived during the second phase of the war, when the death toll took a horrendous turn.
However, immediately after her violent death, Taliyah was martyred, and many Riyanis use her as a symbol of resistance against Alicante.
Endnotes
- ↑ Is "stateswoman" a word...?
- ↑ Honestly it was pretty much exactly like how Brutus was killed in the HBO show Rome.
