Casir (CAH-sur, Phoenic: قاسر Qāsr) is the Phoenic god of the desert, chaos, and change.
Casir is known by many names in many lands. In Phoena, he is called Casir. In Seuvia and many other planes outside Marillia, he is called Zehir. In some worlds, he is called Set or Seth.
Phoenic mythology
In Phoenic mythology, Casir is a member of the divine race of namens, being the son of the stormfather Shahra and his consort Sonya. He is the elder brother of Vaisha and Ossur, but because of a birth complication, Ossur was deemed the heir to Ra. Rather than recognize his younger brother as the lord of the earth, Casir instead slew Ossur in wrath and seized the throne by force, cutting his brother's corpse to pieces and scattering them to the wind.
Their sister, Vaisha, gathered the pieces of Ossur's body, reconstructed it, mounted it, and made herself pregnant by it. She "gave birth" by breathing life back into Ossur's sewn-together corpse—Ossur was then resurrected as his own son, Mishra.
Yacha, lord of fate, warned Vaisha that Mishra was doomed to die at his uncle's hands, but Vaisha allowed him to confront Casir anyway. Mishra was indeed butchered—but then death itself was reversed, the breath of life was returned to Mishra, and he then overpowered his uncle in a second battle and took back his throne. Casir was dismembered and his remains were cast into Lashanti, the darkest of the hells.
Relationships
Casir is opposed by his sister Vaisha and nephew Mishra. Their faithful periodically clash in Phoena.
Casir has an unknown relationship with Tiamat/Nyssa. According to Casir's prophet, Sorhan, Casir and Nyssa are one and the same deity.
