Lawful Evil is the alignment of malevolence exercised through power structures, institutions, and systems of authority.

Lawful Evil individuals tend to follow rules and codes of conduct. They often have standards, lines they won't cross, codes they won't break, and things they are unwilling to do.

Lawful Evil differs from Neutral Evil in that Lawful Evil tends to "constrain itself" to power structures and a particular worldview, whereas Neutral Evil is far more cynical, viewing those power structures as tools to be used—circumvented when the need arises.
