Ina Sukarian (EE-nuh soo-KAR-ee-in) was the most recent oracle of the Sanctuary. She was oracle for most of the Eighth Occaria.
Ina was born in Morena in 475 to a middle-class merchant family. She was discovered to be the oracle by the Hestati in 487, while the Alicantian Empire was two years into a war with Phoena and Riyan. It is an open secret that she escaped their custody and fled across the Valinain Coast before they once again found her and crowned her. In December of that year, she declared the Eighth Occaria.
Shortly after Alicante's victory, on 9 August 494, while at peace banquet at the Lahren in Liore, Ina Sukarian was assassinated by poisoning. The Hestati immediately blamed Lioren nationalists and slaughtered nearly all of the Lioren attendees—a total of 198 dignitaries, plus 104 servants.
News of Ina's death quickly spread across the Aenea. The Phoenics enjoyed three days of celebration in honor of her assassination.
