Inspector Javert

Lawful Neutral is the alignment wherein law and order are conflated with goodness.

Whereas Lawful Good and Lawful Evil often see order as a means to an end (virtue and malevolence, respectively), Lawful Neutral sees order as an end unto itself. It says that if order is established, then things must be good.

Lawful Neutral sees Lawful Good as overly idealistic. It sees Lawful Evil as an unfortunate yet natural outgrowth of sufficiently complex systems, and possibly even as a "necessary evil."
