In the Lucianus, the Goddess, sometimes called Dea (Valinain: "goddess") or Thea (Vallyran: "goddess"), is the supreme being, the creator and preserver of all things, and the absolute moral and epistemic authority in the cosmos. Being monotheists, Lucians believe the Goddess is the only being worthy of worship and that all other "gods" are false.

Orthodox Lucians believe the Goddess created humans in her image, while nonhuman sapients are the work of demons made in imitation of her creation.
