Past the eternal battleground that is Avernus, first of the Nine Hells, and past the eternal and unbroken Runeferran, lies Dis, the second layer of the Nine Hells. Dis is a vast metropolis—one of the largest in the multiverse. It is a hub of trade and culture, where devils, evil jinn, yugoloths, tieflings, genasi, and many more live and work and trade.
Structure
Some scholars say the city of Dis is coterminous with the layer. Some even say the city is infinite. Abn-Azer disagrees: he says there are other realms in this layer; all are subordinate to Dis and Dispater, however.
