Nodens is quite the oddity in the Cthulhu Mythos, being a surprisingly chill guy. He's been described as "somewhat benevolent," which, though it seems like quite the lukewarm praise, makes him better than almost every other god in the Mythos. Importantly, Nodens opposes Nyarlathotep, and seems to have some connection to the Dreamlands. He seems to be in command of the night-gaunts.

Nodens has been described as belonging to a category of entities known as the Elder Gods.

I just learned this: believe it or not, he's also a Yu-Gi-Oh card.

Celtic deity

Nodens was worshiped by the IRL Celts as a healing god. He was associated (for some reason) with Mars, and compared to Silvanus.
