Myrkul is the Faerûnian god of death. He's a member of the Dread Three, and was the team's necromancer and presumably heal slut.

Myrkul was originally a mortal prince named Myrkul Bey al-Kursi who traveled with Bane and Bhaal on a quest for godhood approximately 2000 years ago. He was said to be a powerful necromancer. After they succeeded in attaining godhood, he chose to rule as god of the dead. This lasted up until the Time of Troubles (which he and Bane instigated), when was killed by a sorceress named Midnight. Most of his power was then channeled into Cyric, because of course it was.

Recently, as of the Second Sundering, Myrkul has somehow returned. He's been granted the domain of death, and is presumably now junior to Kelemvor.

Myrkul is far weaker now than ever before. He, like Bane and Bhaal, decided after the Second Sundering to anchor themselves to the material plane in physical forms, and so their Divine Ranks are now all zero.

Death

When Myrkul was killed, it was after days of dying in agony, and his wails could be heard for days. This earned him the name Moaning Myrkul.[1]

Relationships

Myrkul is homeboys with Bane and Bhaal.

He and Shar are buds.

Chauntea, Lathander, and Mielikki are among his many enemies.

Power Ranking

DR Currently: 0 (quasi-deity)
