Cyric

Cyric ("SEER-ick") is one of the greatest forces of evil in the Forgotten Realms. He is currently the god of strife and lies, and was once also the god of death, the dead, murder, tyranny, hatred, and fear. He's part of the big three villains of the FR, along with Shar and Bane.

Cyric is megalomaniacal, sadistic, and petty, consumed with the belief that true authority comes only from the self. He is Chaotic Evil. He is a relatively new god: he was originally a mortal who achieved godhood during the Time of Troubles, after going around killing gods and collecting their powers like fucking Infinity Stones. He has probably the highest god-killing KDA in the entire D&D meta-setting, beating the Raven Queen by a few points.

Cyric is hated and feared all across Faerûn.

Relationships

Pretty much everyone hates Cyric. Cyric himself doesn't exactly hate everyone else; it's more like he's just megalomaniacal and sees everyone as his inferior -- as tools to be used.

The dead goddess Leira is his daughter, but Cyric killed her.

Among his chiefest enemies are his old adventuring pals Midnight and Kelemvor. He's killed both of them in the past, and so it's safe to say they don't like him. As a man, he lusted after Midnight. He's the one who caused her and Kelemvor to break up.

Cyric is an enemy of the entire Dread Three, having personally killed Bhaal and absorbed Myrkul's powers. In fact, Cyric's greatest enemy is Big Guy himself, Bane. The conflict between the two of them is yet another great example of the disparity between Lawful Evil and Chaotic evil. According to Faiths and Pantheons:

Cyric now views Bane as the greatest threat to his power, and the brewing war between these two lords of evil may eventually consume Faerûn in a great holocaust.

Religious views

Back when he was a mortal, Cyric was a worshiper of Mask and Tempus, but the sourcebooks explicitly state that he was "not devout in either faith," which, for some reason, I've always find kind of funny.

Symbol

Cyric's symbol is a jawless human skull atop the eight-pronged chaos cross.

Mandate

See the following excerpt from Faiths and Pantheons:

Dogma: Death to all who oppose Cyric. Bow down before his supreme power, and yield to him the blood of those that do not believe in his supremacy. Fear and obey those in authority, but slay those that are weak, of good persuasion, or false prophets. Battle against all clergy of other faiths, for they are false prophets and forces who oppose the One True Way. Bring death to those that oppose Cyric‘s church or make peace, order, and laws, for only Cyric is the true authority and all other authority must be subverted. Break not into open rebellion, for marching armies move the false deities to action. Fell one foe at a time and keep all folk afraid, uneasy, and in constant strife. Any method or means is justified if it brings about the desired end.
