Geryon-PF.png

Geryon[1] is a terrible entity known to the people of ancient Greece, Golarion, and other worlds. He[2] is believed to be the de facto ruler or perhaps the de jure ruler of the fifth layer of the Nine Hells. If he's not the official ruler, then he's technically subordinate to Levistus.

Opinions abound on what Geryon is. He's classified by sages on Oerth, Toril, Golarion, and other worlds as a devil. Some, however, describe him as a giant, others claim he is an asura rana, and others still speak of how he was once a celestial.

Endnotes

  1. Supposedly this is pronounced "JEER-ee-in" but I say "GEHR-ee-on", which I'm pretty sure is closer to the actual pronunciation, since in Greek the name starts with a gamma. This name isn't modern Italian my dudes, it's ancient Greek.
  2. In PF, Geryon is referred to as an "it," but I usually just use male pronouns for him.
