Nerull is one of the greatest forces of evil in OG D&D. One of his nicknames is literally the Foe of All Good. Talk about being melodramatic.
In Greyhawk and the Nentir Vale, Nerull (I say "NEH-rull" or "NAY-rool," though I think I once heard Mike Mearls say "NURL"), often called Gravelord Nerull or the Gravelord, is the Neutral Evil greater god of death and darkness.

Realm
Nerull dwells in Agathys, the sixth and innermost layer of Carceri, in a fortress of ice and steel known as the Necromanteion. He is one of the few inhabitants of Carceri who is there voluntarily. The shators generally leave him alone, for very obvious reasons. When he demands their aid, they listen—again for obvious reasons.
In the NV, it is said that Nerull used to dwell in an astral dominion known as Pluton, the Gray Waste, before he got butchered by the Raven Queen.
Worship
Nerull is one of the most widely feared entities in Greyhawk. Very few worship him. People don't even give him offerings in an attempt to appease him and keep him away—they believe that would only draw his attention and anger him. Few are even willing to say his name aloud.
Nerull is arguably the cruelest death god in the D&D multiverse. He certainly beats the harsh (but fair) Kelemvor and Raven Queen, and is likely worse than Jergal, Myrkul, and even Cyric.
Relationships
Nerull has shaky alliances with Hextor and the dragon god Faluzure. He also apparently thinks Incabulos is a pretty cool guy. In the NV, he is the archenemy of the Raven Queen.
Nerull is a worshiper of Tharizdun.
Power Ranking
Nerull is one of the few greater powers of Greyhawk. He's quite the fearsome foe, though our girl the Raven Queen proved he is anything but invincible.
