Adina Le Rhodes, commonly referred to by her matrial name, Cassandra, is the bishop of Alicante, head of the Grand Chamber, and the matria of the Sanctuary.
Cassandra is viewed as an effective administrator and overall an above-average ruler. Her politics are generally considered traditionalist, interventionist, authoritarian, reactionary, nationalist, imperialist, and militarist. Her rule has seen increased state control of industry and finance, imperial expansion in Rhys and Imray, greater financial and material support for Lucian militants in foreign nations, and expansion of the Alicantian military.
Cassandra oversaw the Eighth Occaria, which saw the slaughter of millions of civilians in Rhys. She and Ina Sukarian are almost universally hated in Rhys. She's basically viewed as a female Hitler.
Cassandra is the current chair of the Borhees, a right-wing political party in Alicante.[1]
Relationships
Cassandra is the mother of Morgan Le Rhodes. She is widowed; Morgan's father, Adrian Marcel, died around the time she was born. Cassandra has not remarried.
Cassandra is a political ally of Cardinal Matilda Bellanger (Charlie's mom) and Carbuncle. She also obviously knew Raven and Ina since they were young.
