This article is about the ancient imperial polity. For the region, see Valina.
The Valinain Empire ("VAL-ih-NAY-in") was an ancient imperial state which ruled large swaths of the Aenea before its sudden collapse approximately 500 years ago. It was likely the dominant military power in the Aenea at its peak. It was the predecessor of the later Aenean civilizations, such as the Alicantian Empire and Vallyra.
History
Shockingly little is known about the Valinain Empire, largely because it was obliterated in a cataclysm that wiped much of the historical record clean. We know that it controlled Valina, Auvergne, Vallyra, Astoria, Vittoria, the Ozaras, Genova, large parts of Imray; and it may have extended into modern-day Phoena, Riyan, and Jakkur.
Aftermath
After the empire's collapse, numerous successor states popped up amidst its ashes claiming descent from Valina, including the Alicantian Republic, the Valdorian Empire, Sehovia, and the Thalian Empire. When the Alicantian Empire was formed, it gobbled up most of them.
