Chains of destiny are legendary weapons from the Upper Planes, believed to be able to shackle even gods.

Description

Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement)

Add 10 to any grapple check made with this item. Grapples made with this item have a range of 60 feet.

If a creature is grappled with this item, attacks made against the grappled creature have advantage. Whenever the grappled creature attempts to break free, add 10 to your check.

When grappled with this item, the creature cannot teleport or be teleported away, nor can they shift or be shifted to another plane of existence, by any means except by the power of at least a greater god.

As a bonus action on each of your turns, you can attempt to pull the grappled creature towards you. Make a Strength (Athletics) check and add 10, against the grappled creature's choice of a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. On a failure, the grappled creature is pulled towards you a distance of 5 feet times your Strength modifier.

Alternatively, you can pump arcs of radiant energy into the creature, as a bonus action on each of your turns. The grappled creature makes a DC 25 Constitution saving throw, taking 12d6 radiant damage on a failure or half as much on a success.
