Marillia
Marillia ("muh-RIH-lee-uh") is the name of the setting whose wiki you're on right now.
The main planet of interest is Moray, a relatively large super-Earth which orbits the star Volturri.[1] The main region of interest on Moray (currently) is Teresis, but there are other regions, such as Romanastra (where BOTE and MLG take place).
Take note, also, that the term Marillia refers both to the setting as a whole and also the material plane or "universe" in which DOM, MLG, BOTE, and SOTP take place. For an example of why this is significant, on the page for Arkevia (the Shadowfell), I describe how Arkevia sits "adjacent to Marillia."
Religion
Religion in Marillia is "softer" than in other settings.[2] See the page Religion in Teresis for a good explanation of this. In a nutshell, the existence of the gods is not as obvious in Marillia as it is in a setting like Greyhawk, the Forgotten Realms, or Dragonlance. Perhaps some gods exist and others do not. Perhaps Razadists are all wrong about their god Mirzad and he really doesn't want them exterminating the aznir. Maybe Casir is an aspect of Ra. Who knows?
Magic
As in canon D&D, magic is divided into two major categories: arcane magic (called arcana) and divine magic (called radiance). It is not clear whether radiance truly is derived from gods.
Endnotes
- ↑ Morayans rarely call it Volturri, though; they just call it the "sun," like how we call Sol "the sun" and Luna "the moon."
- ↑ Consider Theros and the Forgotten Realms "hard" (as in, the gods definitely exist) and Eberron as "softer" (we don't know much about the existence or nature of the gods). On this scale, Theros (the gods are in the sky and you can see them) and Dark Sun (the gods are all definitely dead) would be on one end (hardest), followed quickly by a four-way tie between Greyhawk, the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, and Pathfinder (hard: the gods exist and sometimes they show up), and then on the other end of the spectrum would be a tie between Eberron and Marillia (very soft).
